Monday nights I visit Panera
at Kent Station
for a Spanish Meetup.

My favorite spanish web sites:

It began in 2007 with a Green River College class. Then Bellevue Community College. Today I spend more time on the web. On Monday nights I visit Panera at Kent Station for a Spanish Meetup. We teach each other.

Every attendee is at a different stage of learning. What we have in common is we all want to learn to speak and understand this language. Shaun Smiley,Flash Cards a frequent Panera visitor loaned me a copy of How to Learn Any Language by Barry Farber. Now I never go anywhere without a sleeve of flashcards in my pocket. Shaun also suggested the audio cd's that I have found the most helpful, Learn Spanish Like Crazy.

I try to study spanish one hour each day. Another resource introduced to me at the Panera Meetups is http://newsinslowspanish.com

This website is more comprehensive than its name suggests.

A couple winters back, I was showing a Renton Highlands duplex. The client said to her brother, "Tengo frio". Because I knew she was cold I had the ability to be courteous enough to ask her to step into my car. My interest in their language suggests to Spanish speaking U.S. immigrants that if I respect their language, I may respect them.
